The Klöckner Pentaplast Group, a leading producer of films for diverse packaging applications, has recently added ultra-high moisture and oxygen barrier films to its Pentapharm® film product line. The newly added Pentapharm® kpMax™ S04 films are four-layer structures consisting of PVC/PVdC/ACLAR®/PVC and are engineered for sensitive drugs requiring ultra, ultra-high moisture and oxygen barrier properties in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical blister packaging applications. Due to the combination of ACLAR® film and PVdC coating, these films offer the highest moisture and oxygen barrier properties available in the world today - beyond what ACLAR® or PVdC products can offer alone, as per the company.
The company says Pentapharm® kpMax™ S04 films are ideal for products that require ultra, ultra-high barrier properties in a transparent, small footprint package. Further, the new line of films can fit the most demanding applications without special tooling or expensive equipment requirement, as PVC is the contact layer. These films are specifically designed to have excellent lay flat for superior machinability on standard form/fill/seal packaging lines.
