Plastivision India 2004
Held once in three years, Plastivision India is considered as one of the most important national trade shows for the Indian plastics industry. Featuring various segments of the industry, this exhibition is organised by All India Plastics Manufacturers’
Plastivision India 2004, the sixth in the series was held from December 23-27, 2004. It was inaugurated by R R Patil, deputy chief minister of Maharashtra at NSE Complex, Mumbai. While Nawab Malik, minister for labour, Government of Maharashtra, was the chief guest, Kamal Nanavaty, president, Polymers and Crackers – Reliance Association (AIPMA). Industries Ltd, and
Ghisulal Rathod, Cello Group were the guests of honour. Another first for AIPMA was the unique threeday seminar on ‘Unleashing India’s true potential in plastics’ with speakers expressing their views on varied subjects. The seminar sessions were chaired by eminent personalities from the plastics industry. The exhibition highlighted the industry’s growth & progress and also proved that India is emerging as one of the most promising hubs for plastics. The visitors’ influx set a new record and there were visitors from all over the country as well as neighbouring nations. Business visitors from UAE, Middle East as well as the US were present at the exhibition and had tie-ups with Indian exhibitors this time. The exhibitors were happy that they had a good volume of the business generated at this event.
It was indeed a mega event for the entire plastics industry where participants could converge to establish new relations and conceive new ideas. This event also provided an opportunity for various businesses to showcase their product innovation and technology to the world and at the same time gain new insights into the latest technologies available. Further, Plastivision India 2004 proved to be an ideal platform for entrepreneurs to interact with internationally renowned companies and broaden their horizons.
Kailash B Murarka
vice president (West Zone), AIPMA and co-chairman - marketing (West Zone), PVI 2007
Plastivision India 2007 (PVI 2007) is in pursuit of growth excellence, and it gives me immense pleasure to meet you through this medium. As a result of the confidence and credibility established by AIPMA during the course of the previous six expos, we are once again flooded with an overwhelming response from exhibitors for the forthcoming PVI 2007.
The forthcoming event will be spread over more than 40,000 sq m with increased number of exhibitors and product profiles. Besides, there will be international participants from countries like Belgium, China, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea and UAE.
Today, the Indian plastics industry offers immense opportunities as far as exports are concerned. It is
also gaining momentum in segments like plasticulture, medical plastics, healthcare, IT-related products, energy conservation and infrastructure, among others. The petrochemical industry too plays a vital role in the economic growth and development of the Indian plastics industry. Downstream of plastics processing sector is highly labour intensive, which currently provides good employment opportunities and also has the potential to generate employment by 2011-2012.
I am confident that PVI 2007 will not only help new entrepreneurs to consolidate their market presence, but also help them finalise new contracts and business.
The concept of this ‘Exhibition Preview’ as a medium to showcase new applications and product profiles will certainly yield good results in locating customers and business visitors at PVI 2007, which is scheduled to be held from December 6-10, 2007.
I wish all the exhibitors success and good luck.
Raju D Desai
honorary secretary, AIPMA and chairman - Visitors’ Promotion Committee (International), PVI 2007
