Voridian has planned a US$100 million PET expansion in Calhoun County in South Carolina. The new plant, with a capacity of 350,000 tpa, will be the first commercial scale PET polyesters plant to use a new technology called IntegRex. Voridian's project, which commenced three years ago, in line with the company's growth strategy to be the leader in PET production. The 40-year Calhoun County history of Eastman, now Voridian, has been as a producer of purified terepthalic acid and, since 1981, polyethylene terepthalate resin.
