As per unconfirmed reports, India's largest petrochem maker - Reliance, has put on ice, four units at Vadodara. The units were previously part of IPCL's complex in Vadodara, before it got bought by Reliance. The four units that have been affected by sinking prices caused by decreased demand leading to stockpiling include a 24,000 tpa acrylic fibre unit, a 43,000 acrylo nitrile unit, a 55,000 tpa PVC unit and a 45,000 tpa LAB (linear Alkyl benzene unit.
The units currently operational at Vadodara are a 20,000 tpa mono ethylene glycol (MEG)/ethylene oxide unit, a 1,10,000 tpa polypropylene unit and a 80,000 tpa Low-density polyethylene unit.
