KBR receives two contracts for engineering services by Sasol Technology (15-12-2008)

KBR has been awarded two contracts by Sasol Technology (Pty) Ltd. to provide, engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) services for one project and basic engineering services for the second of its petrochemical projects in Sasolburg, South Africa. The contracts total approximately US$2.7 million and work is expected to begin immediately.
Under the first contract, KBR will provide EPCm services, including project management, time control, and cost and quality control for Sasol's High Sulphur Diesel project. The goal is to enable Sasol to meet its local growth, sustainability and environmental requirements through the successful execution of the contract. This award follows KBR's completion of the basic engineering phase of the project.
Under the second contract, KBR will provide conceptual design for Sasol's PVC (poly vinyl chloride) Closed Reactor Technology Plant, revamping and converting the existing open reactor technology to closed reactor technology. The scope of work includes modifications to the conning towers of the reactors, automatic catalyst and chemical dosing systems, and the design of an automatic reactor cleaning system.
