Honam to build polycarbonate plant (25-10-2005)

South Korea's Honam Petrochemical Corp., a unit of South Korea's retail giant Lotte Group, plans to invest 200 billion won (US$188.7 million) over the next three years to build a polycarbonate plant. Honam Petrochemical will set up the facility, with a production capacity of 65,000 tons, at the production plant in Yeosu. The plant is scheduled for completion by October 2008.
Earlier in June this year, Honam along with wholly-owned unit Daesan Petrochemical Corp. had announced plans to invest a combined 1.04 trillion won by 2008 to lift capacity of their key petrochemical products including ethylene, styrene monomer and polycarbonate.
