Films

Borstar Enhanced Polyethylene
Borstar Enhanced PE–The cost effective alternative for High Perfromance Flexible Packaging, grades FB2230 and FB2310 have unparalled balance of Performance, Productivity and Versatility.

Bimodal HDPE Film
Two bimodal HDPE film grades are currently produced with densities of 946 and 952 kg/m³.
Typical applications for FM1460 and FB1520 are exclusive carrier bags, boutique bags, liners, dry food and thin pouches.

Moulding

Health Care
Moulding in healthcare applications is a challenging area with many special requirements including compliance to stringent international health standards.

Rotomoulding

Borcene Compact™ - an advanced polymer technology
The rotational moulding market is developing fast, both in terms of technical advancement and in total volume. To contribute to the market's demand for more competitive ways of production and enhanced material properties, our parent company, Borealis, has developed an advanced polymer technology, Borecene-the third generation of polyethylene for the rotomoulding industry

Automotive
Polypropylene is the dominant material for engineered plastics and advanced compounds that are increasingly replacing not only conventional materials such as metals but also other plastics including ABS, PA or PVC in an increasing number of applications in the automotives industry.

Appliances
Polyolefins, particularly Polypropylene(PP), offer a broad material choice, and during recent decades PP has become the dominant polymer chosen for new domestic appliances and houseware. Borouge, through our link with Borealis, Europe 's leading polyolefin producers for over three decades, has a unique ability to add value to the appliances and houseware industry.
Pipe

PE100
A unique product from the bimodal process, PE100 remains the highest MRS classified PE today for pressure piping applications.
Borouge/Borealis Manufacture and supply three PE100 grades for gas and drinking water pipe market all of which are classified as “PE100+” by the PE100+ Association, Europe:
Borstar®HE3490LS, High Density Black PE100 compound
Borstar®HE3492LS, High Density Orange PE100 compound
Borstar®HE3494LS, High Density Blue PE100 compound

PE80 for Gas and Drinking Water Systems
Borouge/Borealis manufacture and supplies four PE80 grades for gas and drinking water pipe market:
Borstar® HE3470-LS, High Density Black PE compound
Borstar® ME3440, Medium Density Black PE compound
Borstar® ME3441, Medium Density Yellow PE compound
Borstar® ME3444, Medium Density Blue PE compound

Borcoat Coating Systems for Steel Pipelines
Borouge offers three main polyolefin based systems:
Borcoat™ High Density polyethylene system, for operating temperatures from –45°C to+ 90°C
Borcoat™ Polypropylene  systems  for  operating  temperature  up  to +110°C
Borcoat™ PP insulated systems for offshore projects, for operating temperature up to +140°C

Polypropylene Solutions for Pipe
Polypropylene has been used for pipe systems since the 1970s in a range of applications from small-corrugated pipe for electrical wire protection to large pipes in the chemical treatment industry.
Borealis has nearly 25 years experience in the use of PP for pipe, and is the leading supplier of PP for pipe systems. The major PP pipe products supplied by Borouge / Borealis are:
Beta-PP BE60-7032 for chemical and industrial Pipe systems
PP-r 100 RA130E **** grades in various compounded colours for hot and cold water.
New generation Beta PP-r RA7050 grades for hot and cold water with weight savings over PP-r.

Standards for Pressure Pipe
PE pipe systems for water and gas distribution have had very strong growth and an impressive track record, however, high level of standards and approvals are critical to sustain this growth.
Borouge policy is to offer the polyethylene pressure pipe market with highest quality materials that meet the most stringent specifications. We would also like to share our knowledge on polyethylene pipe standards to promote a regulated market for safety and reliability of the polyethylene pipeline system.

Facilities
Borouge differentiates itself from other industry players with Borealis' proprietary Borstar® technology. Borstar technology involves

Borouge's Borstar petrochemical complex

a dual polymerisation process to produce superior bimodal polyethylene for demanding applications in film, wire and cables and pipes.

Borouge uses the innovative Borstar Technology at its US$1.2 billion petrochemical complex in Ruwais, in the United Arab Emirates, which in is operational since in end 2001. The 260-hectare plant comprises of a 600,000-tonne ethylene cracker and two polyethylene plants, each with an annual production capacity of 225, 000 tonnes of high-medium and linear low bimodal polyethylene. The plant is the first significant downstream petrochemical investment in the United Arab Emirates and the first in the region to incorporate Borstar technology.

The Borstar process produces innovative products which:
Give superior properties
Are used in a broad range of product application
Priced competitively
Exert less burden on the environment

Borouge 2, the major expansion project being undertaken by Borouge at its production facility in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, will triple annual production capacity to two million tons of polyolefins. Borouge 2 will include the worlds biggest olefins conversion unit producing 752,000 tpa and two Borstar polypropylene plants with a combined annual capacity of 800,000 tpa, along with a new Borstar-enhanced polyethylene plant that will have an annual capacity of 540,000 tpa to complement the existing 600,000 tpa unit.
