Coatings to consider: a .Solvent - 2 x component adhesive - 0.8 - 2.0 # / ream (forward coating) - we agree that 5 x roll method may be overkill but please evaluate. b.Solvent - primer - .3 - 1.2 # / ream (either for extrusion bonding OR priming foil and other substrates for future printing) Nitrocellulose c.Solvent - primer - .3 - 1.2# / ream - Vinyl primer - for future printing d.Solvent - Heat Seal Coating - 3.0 - 6.0 # / ream - (reverse coating) - Vinyl - for sealing to PVC blister - Foil coating e.Solvent / Water based ink - .7 - 1.5# / ream -gravure printing of one color on multiple substrates f.Should we consider solvent-free as well? I assumed that solvent-free would not be practical with in-line extrusion coating / laminating. g.Option of future slot-die coater
Beyond specifications that you have, please consider: 1. Option of running just the adhesive / coating station without extrusion coating or laminating 2. Capability of extrusion coating with both extruders and still having independent gauging and die control 3. 2 x position trolley system at coating station to allow 2nd trolley to be prepared and installed into the coating station while machine is in operation - impression roller drops to new trolley for new job. 4. Capability of flipping the adhesive laminated web prior to 1st extruder / die.
