1) Electrical Connectors:
Vibratory feeder bowls are used to orientate nut inserts for the robot which docks to pick-up and place inserts with accuracy and trouble-free, no labor work cells.

2) Battery Terminals:
Inserts of all different kinds as nuts, bolts, pins, fasteners, appliqué's and lead inserts as battery terminal posts, are now a routine application for Wittmann. Inserts can be manually fed on shuttle drawers or automatically fed by bowl feeders.

In this application two bowl feeders present positive and negative terminals to the insert tooling of the robot.

3) Automotive Handles:
Pick-up of metal straps from a manually loaded buffer magazine and insertion into an 8-cavity mold onto holding pins. The overmolded straps are removed from the mold with the additional removal tooling.

4) Cloth Insertion:
The insertion of cloth and textiles into the mold is a developing technology that allows molders to manufacture high quality interior and trim components at low cost.

5) Stud insertion:
Inserts of all different kinds as nuts, bolts, pins, fasteners, applique's and studs are now a routine application for Wittmann. Inserts can be manually fed on shuttle drawers or automatically fed by bowl feeders.

In this application one bowl feeder presents studs to the insert tooling of the robot. Six pieces are picked up sequentially from the escapement mechanism of the bowl feeder and simultaneously inserted into the mold. Prior to the insertion the finished part is removed with the removal end-of-arm tooling.
