All polymers generally show some level of succeptibility to degradation when exposed to Ultra Violet Light source. This is especially more intense in case of polyolefins. This limitises polyolefins use for outdoor applications. Polypropylene as well as High Density Polyethylene, Low Density Polyethylene and Linear Low Density Polyethylene are all suscepteble to attack by light, oxygen and heat resulting in loss of mechanical properties, gloss and colour fading. UV stabilizers are the right solution to overcome this problem.
