To cope with slowing market demand triggered by global economic downturn, Battenfeld Extrusion (BEX) MD Wolfgang Studener, will take over management of Cincinnati (CET), With effect from September 1, 2008.
In a move that will assist the two brand strengths wrestle with deterioration in extrusion machinery market, both the companies will be streamlined, combining strategic purchasing, production, logistics and financial administration; with a focus on a drastic reduction in delivery times. Production of components such as extruder screws and dies will remain at CET in Vienna, Austria, and Bad Oeynhausen, in Germany, and American Maplan in the USA.
Overall market for extrusion equipment will shrink by almost 10 to 12% over the next two years, with profile extrusion witnessing the largest decline of 20%. Growth is estimated in pipe and packaging film-maintaining stability in overall pipe extrusion equipment market.
