Dow Unipol Polypropylene Process Technology and Aker Kvaerner have been chosen by PetroChina Fushun Petrochemical Company for its new 300,000 tpa polypropylene facility to be built in Fushun, Liaoning Province. This facility will be the fourth PP plant in China in 2 years to use the Unipol Polypropylene Technology from Dow Technology Licensing (DTL) and the third PP project to be awarded to Aker Kvaerner in the last year. The well proven technology, high performance SHAC Catalyst Systems and other products available under the agreement give PetroChina a feasible and long standing solution to address the polypropylene demand.
With this new project in place, Unipol Polypropylene Technology will be used to produce more than 10 mln metric tpa of polypropylene-16% of total global capacity.
