In a bid to capture a chunk of the global market, India's energy major, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), has established a distinct strategic business unit (SBU) to market its petrochemical products. The SBU has five exclusive sub-groups, classified as per products and function - Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB), PTA, polymers, logistics and exports. Of these units, the SBU has successfully established Indian Oil's LAB business both in India and abroad.
IOC continues to strive for growth through integration of its core business with opportunities available in the petrochemicals sector. IOC and its subsidiaries and group companies own and operate 10 of the 19 refineries in the country with a combined capacity of 60.20 mln tpa (1.2 million bpd).
