Process:

Basically extruding the hot plastic melt through a die which has an opening shaped to produce a desired application. Material is fed in to the hopper passes through narrow passage of screw and barrel driven by external motor forced out of suitable die of desired shape. The extruded shape is sized and cooled through cooling (water) tank and cut into pallet with the help of pelletizer.


Design:

It is closed chamber with screw, barrel, and gear box connected to motor. The screw and barrel are designed for different L/D and compression ratio considering density / M.F.I. and melting temperature of the polymer to be processed.


Screw & Barrels:

The barrel is the cylindrical housing in which the screw rotates. The screw is the helically slighted shaft which rotates and advances the material being processed. Fabricated from specially alloy steel treated for wear resistant finish by special heat treatment, nitrated to withstand wear and tear, equipped with specially developed heaters for energy efficient heating system and accurate control of temperature by micro processor based digital control system with variable drive for main motor & pelletizer motor (optional).
