The DSR RL (rear loading version) accommodates the unwind and duplex rewind section on opposite sides to allow reels of reasonably big diameters in a layout which is surprisingly compact and space saving. It is thus a frontrunner where the output per unit space is an important criterion during selection of equipment.

The DSR RL slitting rewinding machine is extensively used in the flexible packaging and converting industry to slit and rewind paper, plastic films, aluminum foil and flexible laminates.
