PVC, the second largest polymer in India
has touched consumption of more than 1.1 million tons for
the first time in 2005-2006. Considering annual growth of
PVC at 7% in India, heat stabilizers would grow at the same
rate. Due to higher growth of pipe, the one pack will grow
at about 8-10%. Lead stabilizer will have a lower growth and
mixed metal as well as calcium zinc are not expected to grow
more than 3%. Read in detail in PVC heat stabilization scenario in India: 2005-2006

Slip agents are special additives that
improve machinability of thin plastic products. Polyolefins
are widely used for packaging films that are typically thin,
making them the major user of slip agents. Polymer nature,
morphology, as well as crystallinity are the most important
variables upon which slip behaviour of plastic product depends.

Fire
laws call for long-lasting photoluminescent signs, strips
and other markings to guide people out of enclosed spaces.
Applications of Photoluminescent masterbatches and pigments
include moulded parts, door handles, hand rails, light switches,
emergency-off fittings and safety helmets. What imparts the
photoluminescence? Read in Photoluminescence
