Curing Butyl Rubber |
Advantages
* Excellent heat resistance
* Good compression set
* Non-blooming
* Non-staining
* Tasteless and odour free vulcanisates |
Applications
* Tyre curing bags
* Heat Resistant conveyor belting
* Steam hose
* Heat resistant diaphragm
* Bag-O-Matic and Auto-form
* Bladders

A reasonable state of cure in Butyl vulcanisates can
be achieved with Resin alone but the rate of cure is too slow for
commercial use, therefore activators or catalyst are necessary for
faster rate of curing
Inorganic metal halides and halogen containing elastomers individually
or in combination are used as catalyst.
With appropriate level of Resin and activator(s) usage and compounding
technique any or all the specific properties of Butyl Rubber with
excellent heat resistance can be obtained. |
