MEMORANDUM OF ASSOCIATION

All India Flat Tape Manufacturers Association (National Association of Plastic Woven Sack Manufacturers) was founded in the year 1971, for :

	Management of socio-economic and politico-legal aspects of business enviornment relevant to Plastic Woven Sack Industry.
	Promote training, technology and research & development activities related to the industry.
	Evolve through consensus and formulate constructive policies, sound business principles and fair trade practices within the industry.
	Collect, collate and analyse information / statistics relating to the Industry.

INDUSTRIAL PROFILE

Number of units in India : 900

Location : Throughout India concentrated in Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh.

Approximate Investment : 5000 crores.

Raw Material Consumption : 4 Lakh tonnes.

Exports : Rs.200 crores annually

Product Range :
(a) Bulk Packaging for Cement, Fertilizers, Sugar and Food grains.
(b) Bulk Packaging for perishables like Onion & Potatoes.
(c) Geo-textiles.
(d) Agro / Horticulture applications .
(e) Tarpaulins for transport industry.

PUBLICATIONS

Directory for Plastic Woven Sack Industry published in July 1999.
"Plastic Woven Sacks News" is published every month.

ACTIVITY

In addition to activities in pursuance of memorandum of association the following activities are also undertaken.

Participation in various exhibitions

Issue of periodical circulars to members.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership of Association is open to all woven sack manufacturers. Others associated with the industry like machinery manufacturers, traders and end users can join as associate members.
Membership tariff is as follows :
Entrance Fee : Rs. 1000/-
Annual Subscription :
      Rs. 8000/- for units with investment in Plant & Machinery over Rs. 60 lakhs.
      Rs. 3000/- for units with investment in Plant & Machinery of Rs. 60 lakhs and less
      Rs. 3000/- for Associate Members.
