PLexconcil is an export promotion body with truly global aspirations. We are committed to serve organisations overseas who seek partners in the Indian Plastics Industry as well as our esteemed members in India to supplement their export efforts.
The Plastics Export Promotion Council (popularly known as PLEXCONCIL) is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, the Department of Commerce and the Government of India and represents the export community of the Indian Plastics Industry. Export promotion strategies that have evolved since 1955, the year PLEXCONCIL was born, have fetched rich dividends, which are evident in the high export growth rate. From a meagre export turnover of US$16.5 million in 1955-56, the exports from the Indian Plastics Industry reached US$ 620 million in 1997-98 and are poised to exceed the US$ One-billion mark in the new millennium.
In its pursuit to achieve export excellence, various export promotional activities are undertaken by PLEXCONCIL. These include :
Participating in international trade fairs, sponsoring delegations to target markets, inviting overseas business delegations to India, organising Buyer-Seller meets-both in India as well as abroad and servicing the needs of its members.
Products from the Indian Plastics Industry are exported to over 150 countries around the globe. The major trading partners being USA, UAE, UK, Italy, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Germany, South Africa, Egypt, the Netherlands and Spain.
