Borealis has restarted its 620,000 tpa naphtha cracker at Stenungsund, Sweden, shutdown due to technical glitches. The plant was restarted after more than two-weeks and is running at its target capacity. This has triggered a rise in naphtha price sin Europe, that have spiked past 10 month highs of US$645/ton CIF NWE. Lower refinery utilisation rates for August, at around 80%, have also been driving prices.
