The region's wire and cable customers can look forward to this year's start-up of Borealis' new 350,000 tpa high pressure low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant in Stenungsund, Sweden, and modernisation and streamlining of associated facilities at the plant. The security of supply guaranteed by Borealis' EUR 370 mln investment strengthens the company's ability to deliver advanced materials from a close proximity location.
To meet increasing demand for medium and high voltage cross-linked PE (XLPE) power cables in Russia, Borealis will present Wire Russia 2009 visitors its on-going technology developments designed to increase productivity, and achieve cost reductions and energy savings for manufacturers, while ensuring end-users receive the best quality cables. The company will exhibit advances in its Supercure™ XLPE cable insulation technology will be showcased alongside next-generation low voltage Visico™/Ambicat™ insulation, and Borealis' complete line of pioneering insulation and jacketing products from its Borcell™, Borstar® and Casico™ ranges. Borealis will reinforce its commitment to supporting customers and the industry with unparalleled technical expertise by hosting a half-day Wire and Cable Academy training seminar during this year's event.
