24-Feb-11
Braskem-Idesa, a joint venture between Brazilian petrochemical company Braskem and Mexican group Idesa, has chosen the Lupotech T technology developed by Dutch LyondellBasell for its Mexican low density-polyethylene plant. The plant will have capacity to produce 300,000 tpa of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and is part of the three integrated polyethylene plants that comprise the Coatzacoalcos/ Nanchital Petrochemical Complexes, in Veracruz state. Operations are scheduled to start in 2015. 'The use of Lupotech T will enable us to compete in equal terms with the US, as we will be leaders in low-production costs and have a wider product portfolio", explained Roberto Bischoff, Braskem- Idesa's CEO.
