As the economic recovery increased demand and product prices, Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics Corp returned to a profit. Net income was NT$7.71 bln (US$243 mln) for the three months ended Dec. 31, compared with a loss of NT$14.6 bln a year ago. Sales in Q4-09 soared 54% from a year ago levels to NT$44.2 bln, compared with a 14% decline in Q3.
