Indonesia’s Tri Polyta plans 30% capacity hike at PP plant

In anticipation of growing domestic demand, Indonesia’s largest polypropylene producer - PT Tri Polyta Indonesia, is to increase PP capacity to 480,000 tpa at Cilegon, West Java. The expansion project was embarked upon in Q3-09at an investment outlay of US$30 mln, and is scheduled to be complete by March 2011. Internal cash was used to fund the project. Demand for polypropylene is expected to grow by 7% in Indonesia in 2010, in line with the 5% economic growth.
