LANXESS opens laboratory for polymer analytical measurements

LANXESS AG's Technical Rubber Products (TRP) business unit has recently opened a laboratory for dynamic-mechanical analyses (DMA) within its Polymer Testing department. The new laboratory will carry out polymer analytical measurements to enable determination of the properties and characteristics of plastics and elastomers required to optimize the processing properties of rubber compounds or their polymer physical properties for particular applications. The Technical Rubber Products business unit belongs to the Performance Polymers segment of the company. A cooperation agreement between LANXESS and Mettler Toledo provides for the premium supplier of precision instruments to carry out measurements in the LANXESS test laboratory on behalf of customers. To this end, LANXESS uses two highly modern DMA devices from Mettler Toledo. In addition, LANXESS offers the highly specialized know-how about elastomers and other materials such as thermoplastics, glass-fiber-reinforced plastics or adhesives that such precision measurements require. With the combined expertise of LANXESS and Mettler Toledo, the Polymer Testing department is looking to expand its activities in the future and increasingly offer its services to third parties.
