Flexi-Green™ Polypropylene Laminate film has been introduced for a wide variety of overwrap applications where moisture barrier, product longevity, recyclability, and overall sustainability are required. Ampac Flexibles helps companies achieve their packaging sustainability goals without compromising barrier properties or product freshness.
Developed initially as an overwrap film for pre-moistened wipes, Flexi-Green can be utilized by packagers for a wide variety of overwrap applications where moisture barrier, product longevity, recyclability, and overall sustainability are required. Flexi-Green film is a laminated, all polypropylene structure that utilizes Flexi-Free solventless technology which reduces overall energy usage by 80% as compared to traditional solvent-based processes for laminate films.
It provides packagers improvements in sustainability through its ability to be recycled at these facilities. In addition, there is also energy reduction from the solventless lamination process, and the reduction of product waste through the film's exceptional moisture barrier properties that help preserve products that must maintain a specified moisture level. It is also an option for packagers that are exploring solutions for weight reduction to the existing flexible packaging structures. The new Flexi-Green polypropylene structure can improve the product-to-package ratio by providing up to 40% weight reduction over some commonly used polyester-to-polyethylene laminations available in today's market, while maintaining the packager's requirements for moisture barrier and product protection.
