PetroChina Liaoyang Petrochemical Company's 1.4 mln tpa naphtha reformer is scheduled to be completed by end of next month. As per Platts, commercial operation is scheduled to start in September at the reformer that utilizes UOP technology. Capacity includes 700,000 tpa of isomer-grade mixed xylenes and 150,000 tpa of benzene.
The company has an existing 500,000 tpa naphtha reformer that provides output to serve as feedstock for its 350,000 tpar No. 1 paraxylene plant. Its No. 2 PX plant has capacity to produce 450,000 tpa isomer-MX as raw material. Currently, over 60% of its isomer-MX feedstock requirements is outsourced.
