SABIC to shutter Dutch naphtha cracker for repairs

A compressor fault discovered earlier this week had caused a shutdown of one of SABIC's naphtha crackers at Geleen, Netherlands. The company had to flare as a result of the incident. The company plans to further the shutdown to repair the naphtha cracker. The two crackers at Geleen have the capacity to produce 1.27 mln tpa of ethylene and 745,000 tpa of propylene.
