Sasol to build world's first commercial ethylene tetramerization unit in Louisiana

South Africa's Sasol Ltd. Is to build the world's first commercial ethylene tetramerization unit with capacity to produce over 100,000 tpa of combined 1-octene and 1-hexene. The unit will be located at the company's Lake Charles production site in Louisiana, with construction set to begin in 2011 and reach operation in mid-2013. 1-octene and 1-hexene are used in the manufacture of linear low density and high density polyethylene and elastomers
