September propylene contracts expected to be flat to higher in September

US propylene prices are expected to be flat to higher in September after recent nominations announced by producer amid tight supply, as per Platts. Sources told Platts that at least two producers had announced pricing for September. LyondellBasell announced an increase of 2 cents/lb while ExxonMobil was heard to have announced a rollover from August. The August contract settled with polymer grade propylene at 78 cents/lb while the August chemical grade propylene contract was at 76 cents/lb. In the spot market, activity was limited to open the week with September RGP heard offered early at 70 cents/lb MtB pipe before falling a penny to 69 cents/lb MtB pipe. Buyers were mostly absent with no confirmed bids seen. September PGP was heard offered at 77.50 cents/lb with no corresponding bids seen. Petrologistics was heard to have restarted its 545,000 tpa propane dehydrogenation unit at Houston, Texas.
