The acquisition of Merquinsa's TPU activities by specialty chemicals manufacturer Lubrizol has been completed, as agreed in November 2011. Located in Barcelona, Spain, Merquinsa serves the most technically demanding segments of the specialty polymer market used in automotive, sports and leisure, furniture and textile coatings. Lubrizol will be assuming approximately 100 Merquinsa employees. All Merquinsa products will be integrated with Lubrizol, combining the product offerings under the Lubrizol Engineered Polymers business.
