Biodegradable additive for polycarbonate applications requiring totally transparent materials has been developed by Bio-Tec Environmental. The company is known for its EcoPure™ additive that accelerates the biodegradation of plastics.
In preliminary testing EcoPure™ treated Polycarbonate passes visual and optical specifications for eyewear and DVD applications. Bio-Tec released its biodegradable G2 formulation for clear PET in June of last year and continues to expand the EcoPure™ product capabilities into a wide range of resins.
