BASF to raise plasticizer capacity at Ludwigshafen

Strong customer demand from all over Europe has prompted BASF to plan an increase in production capacity of oxo alcohols and plasticizers at Ludwigshafen. Plasticizer capacity will be hiked by 40,000 to 300,000 tpa, by Q2-08. Capacity of oxo alcohols will be increased by 80,000 tons to rise to 390,000 tpa to be built up stepwise through to the end of Q1-09. This move strengthens BAsf's position as Europe's second-largest producer of plasticizers, with a portfolio in Europe comprising of Palatinol* N (DINP), Palatinol* 10-P (DPHP), Hexamoll* DINCH, as well as specialty plasticizers.
