Indonesia's Chandra Asri Petrochemical expects to conclude its polypropylene and polyethylene expansion projects in Banten, by the end of 2011, as per Platts. Chandra Asri plans to complete the debottlenecking procedure of its existing 360,000 tpa PP plant by Q2-2011 to raise capacity to 480,000 tpa. The total cost of the debottlenecking program, which began in March 2010, is an estimated $30 million. The company also plans to complete the debottlenecking of its linear low density/high density polyethylene swing plant that would raise its capacity from 320,000 tpa to 336,000 tpa by the end of 2011, at an estimated cost of US$5.5 mln. Also in the pipeline is a 100,000 tpa butadiene plant, to be operated by its subsidiary company, Petrokimia Butadiene Indonesia.
