As ethylene demand recoups after a major decline, Taiwan's government-owned oil refiner, CPC Corp. is all set to start operations at its 350,000 tpa No.4 naphtha cracker after extending its maintenance shut down period. Currently, CPC's two of five naphtha crackers are shunned and is operating No.3 and No.5 crackers at curtailed rates. The cracker which was taken offline in October is expected to get on stream by February beginning, industry sources commented. This is expected to aid the slowly gaining ethylene demand in Asia.
