With a purpose to restore the margins in the polystyrene business, Dow Europe is expected to shun its Terneuzen-based 50,000 tpa polystyrene (PS) plant in Netherlands. The date for resuming production is not known. However, the company will continue to operate other European facilities at reduced rates. As per a senior official in the company, such decisions like these and price increase were imminent to address reducing margins on polystyrene business.
