September PP prices were expected to rise by about 12 cents/lb (US$265/ton), in line with Wednesday's settlement of the polymer-grade propylene (PGP) contract as per ICIS. High prices in USA for September polypropylene (PP) is expected to negatively impact downstream demand. This could in fact trigger a downward correction in PP prices next month. A producer agreed that domestic PP demand would be slowing down in September, while deep-sea export business has receded in August.
