Exxon Mobil Corp has shuttered a few units in its refinery and chemical plant in Jurong Island, Singapore for six weeks of planned maintenance. The turnaround will include the aromatics unit that can produce more than 300,000 tpa of benzene.
Despite the shutdown, Exxon expects to be able to meet the product needs of its customers during this period.
Several secondary units will be shut in the 309,000 bpd refinery from early-March to mid-April. Its naphtha cracker with more than 900,000 tpa cracker and aromatics plant, the core facilities in the Jurong Island petrochemical operations, will also be shut during March.
