13-Dec-16 The market for cast polymer is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.19% during the period of 2015 - 2021, as per Research and Markets. The process of enhancing the physical properties of materials by employing techniques of strengthening has been a prevalent practice. Cast polymer is a product of such a technique. Cast polymers undergo molding process to enhance their strength. They are artificially manufactured and consist of bonded polymers in their chemical structure. Compared to conventional polymers they have enhanced physical properties such as brittleness, stain resistance and many others.
All these improved physical properties have helped the cast polymers market in gaining popularity for both residential and non residential applications. Analyses have shown that the cost of production is low and this factor has in turn led to the increase in popularity of the material around the world.
The solid surface type cast polymer is expected to hold the largest market share along with engineered composites. The latter is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.0% while the former expects a CAGR of 7.49% in between 2016 to 2021. On the geographic scale APAC is the leading producer and is closely followed by Americas and Europe is forecast to be the slowest growing region.
