PTT Chemical Plc (PTTCH) is Thailand's leading petrochemical company, founded through a merger of the PTT affiliates National Petrochemical (NPC) and Thai Olefins (TOC). The Map Ta Phut delay is affecting all projects located there, with the company awaiting legal proceedings before it can operate its new plants at full capacity. The issue for PTTCH is within the supply chain, as currently its plant operating at 50% capacity and the new cracker are both dependent on feedstock supply on the PTT Gas Separation Unit 6, which is one of the stalled projects. When the dispute concludes, the company’s olefins capacity will increase from 1.8 mln tpa to 2.8 mln, polymer capacity will increase from 500,000 to 1.5 mln tpa.
