The arbitrage situation also points to ongoing tight conditions in Europe. The arbitrage to Asia has remained open for several weeks, with the east-west spread standing at US$15/ton for March on Thursday. While the arbitrage to the US has stalled, at least some participants expect demand from the west to be revived in the near future as preparations for the driving season commence.
