Saudi Arabia's Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co (PetroRabigh) seems to be on track to start commercial production before the end of March. The company is going ahead with commissioning the start of procedures. Commercial operations are planned for start up in Q1 despite poor global demand.
The Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical JV started partial operation of its facilities in Q4-2008, but postponed the commercial launch of operations to Q1-09. Banking on its association with Aramco, the new JV hopes to overcome obstacles in the current scenario by making plant very competitive.
