Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (PetroRabigh), a joint venture of Saudi Aramco and Japanese chemical-maker Sumitomo Chemical, has partnered with USA’s DuPont Sustainable Solutions (a subsidiary of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company) to assess PetroRabigh’s safety program at its refining and petrochemicals facilities located in Rabigh. PetroRabigh will collaborate with DuPont to evaluate its safety culture and safety management system. Following the evaluation, the companies will develop a comprehensive implementation plan to improve safety outcomes and standardize safety procedures at the plant. Opened in 2009, PetroRabigh’s Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Complex produces 18.4 million tons of petroleum-based products and 2.4 mln tons of ethylene and propylene-based derivatives per year
