Restart of two naphtha crackers in South Korea- Hanwha Total Petrochemical Co Ltd and LG Chem at Daesan

South Korea’s Hanwha Total Petrochemical Co Ltd has restarted its naphtha cracker this week. The 1 mln tpa cracker in Daesan was shut in the later part of March for maintenance. Hanwha Total plans to raise cracker capacity for 2019 by at least 30% to 1.31 mln tpa.

LG Chem’s Daesan naphtha cracker has resumed operations after an unplanned shutdown on June 8. The cracker has capacity of 1.3 mln tpa.
