Sinopec Corp (Sinopec) and Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC) have inaugurated their 50:50 joint petrochemical complex in Tiajin. Sinopec SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical Co Ltd. Was formed to build and operate the facility. Capacities include a 1 mln tpa ethylene cracker, along with eight downstream units including polyethylene, ethylene glycol, polypropylene, butadiene, phenol, and butene-1, along with utilities. All these have been tested and are ready to begin production by Q1-10.
