Victrex announces foray into Australian market

Victrex plc, a UK-headquartered leading provider of high-performance polyketone materials announced its formal entry into the Australian market. At recently held Australian Oil & Gas exhibition and conference (AOG) in Perth, Victrex showcased its global expertise in the oil and gas industry and highlighting the latest developments in its polymer technology research. The company's high-performance portfolio includes VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer, VICOTE® coatings, and APTIV™ films. Kenny Yu, Senior Market Development Manager at Victrex will be responsible for the company's push into the Australian market. "The oil and gas industry located in Australia represents a significant opportunity for Victrex, and we believe our unique high performance materials are designed to meet the specific needs of this industry. We have two decades of experience in this sector, in more than 30 countries globally, and we look forward to bringing this expertise to Australia," said Yu. VICTREX® PEEK™ polymers, the company says, are increasingly used in oil and gas applications due to combination of high performance properties, including chemical, electrical, hydrolysis, temperature and wear resistance and mechanical strength. The company claims the proven applications in the O&G industry include downhole and subsea electrical connectors, seal rings, bearings and bushings, compressor parts, and wire and cable insulation. Emerging applications include subsea umbilicals, production tubulars, flexible hoses, and composites.
