Japan's ethylene output increased by 8.5% in March on the month to 504,700 metric tons, marking the first on-month increase since November, according to data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Analysts feel that petrochemical demand continues to be weak, and have attributed the rise to the fact that March is longer than February. The 504,700 tons of March output was 14% lower on year.
