Germany's Krones AG, a leading provider of beverage filling and packaging technology, exhibited a Contiform stretch blow-moulding machine, featuring a newly developed oven in modularised construction at the Pack Expo in Chicago. The oven's length can be individually matched to the specific conditions of the client's own line, resulting in considerable cost savings and footprint downsizing. The new heating module, optimally matched to the client's own particular needs, provides energy savings in the double-figure range compared to systems from competitors and previous generations. The company asserts that the new oven is ergonomically enhanced, more eco-compatible, operator-friendlier, quieter, due to its modularised construction and its new process technology, ideal for use with lightweight preforms. This oven even provides clients with an option for handling returnable PET containers. The technology leader Krones offers numerous variants of its stretch blow-moulder/filler BLOCs optimally matched to the customer's individual requirements. The spectrum of outputs ranges from 8,000 to 72,000 containers an hour in the high-speed category.
