PetroChina's planned capacity expansion of its Daqing unit has been deferred by a year. Embarked upon in September 2009, the expansion, that will double ethylene capacity to 1.2 mln tpa, will be completed by June 2012 - about a year later than an earlier plan. The delay was caused by time taken by PetroChina Co Ltd to develop the technology needed for the new ethylene unit.
