06-Aug-12
A fire broke out at the Bandar Imam petrochemical complex - Iran's biggest petrochemical plant, killing three persons and injuring 14 before it was put out, Iranian media reports. The fire that occurred on Friday was caused by a gas leak in a feeding line. The plant reportedly produces more than 4 mln tons of products last year, including polymers, benzenes, propane gas, butane and fuel oil. The processing units of the petrochemical complex were not damaged and some of the production units are offline while other units are functioning regularly.
